Attorneys Geoff Wells and Christian Nickerson reached a $3.5 million settlement on behalf of a 61-year-old woman who suffered debilitating injuries after being struck by a school bus in a marked crosswalk. The driver, who worked for the Bonita Unified School District, violently struck the plaintiff who had the right of way while crossing the street.
The driver attempted to make a left-hand turn at the corner of Baseline Road and Emerald Avenue in La Verne, Ca when she struck the plaintiff causing permanent injuries. She suffered a left hip fracture, left pelvis fracture, left knee/tibia fractures and left foot/ankle injuries which required multiple surgeries. The plaintiff also had facial lacerations requiring 10-20 stitches along with emotional distress and depression.
